A resolution of MeTA Kyrgyzstan, made at the national launch on 16 April 2009, states:

-       The participants of the forum fully support the MeTA initiative and support the launch of the MeTA project in the country.

-       Despite all the efforts by the MOH, Drug Regulation Authority, and Professional Associations, access to medicines remain a major issue in the country.

-       After discussions in the Forum, the following decisions are made:

o   To recognise the official opening of the MeTA project in the Kyrgyz Republic;

o   To approve the work-plan oriented to improve transparency in the medicine supply chain, and

o   To improve access to access to essential medicines with focus on:

§  Strengthening the pharmaceutical sector in the Kyrgyz Republic,

§  Evaluation and analysis of current situation on the quality of medicines, access to state programmes by the vulnerable groups, legal base and regulations on medicines, and improving transparency and accountability in the pharmaceutical sector,

§  Organising public campaigns to promote health with a focus on falsified and poor quality medicines.

-       To recommend the MOH continues active work on promoting Rational Medicine Use and good pharmaceutical management practices.

-       To organise and conduct annual reporting conferences on the MeTA project in the country.
